PeraSure launches digital lending platform amid changing Philippine workforce

MANILA, Philippines – The growing number of Filipinos earning through freelance assignments, platform-based work, and informal businesses is reshaping the country’s employment landscape. As income arrangements become more varied, PeraSure, a digital lending app operated by SEC-registered Sulit Lending Corporation, has officially launched in the Philippines with a lending process designed to accommodate eligible borrowers beyond traditional payroll arrangements.

According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, approximately 9.9 million Filipinos work in gig or informal roles, representing around 22% of the country’s 44 million employed workers. Without regular payslips or employer-issued documents, some of these workers face challenges meeting conventional credit requirements.

PeraSure seeks to address this gap by allowing eligible applicants to apply using a government-issued ID and basic employment or income information. The platform is intended to make the application process more accessible while ensuring borrowers can review the costs of a loan before making a decision.

“Many hardworking Filipinos earn a living outside a regular payroll, yet lending has long been built around payslips,” PeraSure noted. “We want borrowers to see exactly what they will pay, within the SEC’s limits, before they confirm a loan.”

Before confirming a loan, applicants can review the full interest-rate breakdown, applicable fees, and total repayment amount. This upfront information provides borrowers with a clearer view of their financial obligations.

The launch also comes as the lending industry adjusts to an updated regulatory framework. SEC Memorandum Circular No. 14, Series of 2025, effective April 1, 2026, lowered the combined interest-and-fee ceiling for qualifying small loans from 15% to 12% per month.

PeraSure charges a daily interest rate as low as 0.10%, below the updated regulatory ceiling. Eligible borrowers can access loans of up to ₱50,000, with repayment terms ranging from 30 to 180 days based on individual credit evaluations.

For eligible users who need continuing access to credit, PeraSure offers a revolving credit model. Borrowers can draw from an approved credit line over time instead of repeating the application and qualification process for every transaction. Credit limits may increase as borrowers establish a repayment record.

The platform aims to serve the cash-flow needs of salaried workers, gig earners, and micro-entrepreneurs through a digital lending option that reflects the diverse ways Filipinos now earn a living.

The PeraSure app is available for download on Google Play.
